"Be silly, be honest, be kind"
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Great ideas come from thinking differently.
Throughout all of history.
many of the great ideas that changed the world
were initially thought of as... ridiculous.
At The Ridiculous Philanthropy Foundation,
our goal is to change the world,
by doing things a little differently.
We think that’s a great idea.
We make the world more fun.
Why do we exist?
Every year, thousands of great ideas are thrown out or rejected because they’re just a little bit… ridiculous. These ideas may well have been brilliant, marvellous in fact, but with no one to nurture them, they were discarded, cast out, alone. We made this place just for them.
Because the world is serious enough.
Philanthropy literally means “the love of humanity”. It is about caring, nourishing, developing and enhancing what it means to be human. Nowadays, many see philanthropy as the realm of the super-rich. Something you do when you are old, and wealthy, and want to have a hospital named after you. Our aim is to restore the true meaning of philanthropy, as something open to anyone with the desire to make the world a better place.
